4/21 Mock

1. St. Louis Rams - Sam Bradford - QB - Oklahoma
Other possibilities: None

There were questions about Bradford's shoulder - but his pro day cleared them up. The Rams cut Marc Bulger, leaving them with very little choice at this pick.

2. Detroit Lions - Ndamukong Suh - DT - Nebraska
Other possibilities: Gerald McCoy, Russell Okung

Suh is the best player in this draft. Don't believe me? Don't hurt yourself at the 2:00 mark http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LODXJQwjzag.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Gerald McCoy - DT - Oklahoma
Other possibilities: Ndamukong Suh

The Bucs would prefer Suh - so if Suh is there, the Bucs will rush up to the podium. The Bucs will entertain trade offers if Suh is off the board, but the phone won't ring. McCoy is the pick.

4. Washington Redskins - Trent Williams - OT - Oklahoma
Other possibilities: Russell Okung , Trade down

Trent Williams has more upside than any other OT in the draft. He's also the best athlete out of the bunch. Mike Shanahan is well-known for his offensive line coaching - and he has the confidence that he can get the best out of Williams.

5. Kansas City Chiefs - Bryan Bulaga - OT - Iowa
Other possibilities: Russell Okung, Eric Berry, Rolando McClain, Trent Williams, Dan Williams, Trade down

Bulaga is higher on KC's board than Okung.

6. Seattle Seahawks - Russell Okung - OT - Oklahoma State
Other possibilities: Russell Okung, Trent Williams, Eric Berry, C.J. Spiller, Derrick Morgan

Tough one here between Eric Berry and Okung. Ultimately, safeties don't make as much of an impact as offensive tackles. On top of that, the track record for safeties taken in the top ten isn't so hot (LaRon Landry, Michael Huff, Donte Whitner). With Walter Jones gone, someone needs to protect Matt Hasselbeck.

7. Cleveland Browns - Eric Berry - S - Tennessee
Other possibilities: Earl Thomas, Jimmy Clausen, Derrick Morgan, Joe Haden, C.J. Spiller, Dan Williams

The Browns want Berry bad. They will look to trade down if he's gone.

8. Oakland Raiders - Dan Williams - DT - Tennessee
Other possibilities: Rolando McClain, Trent Williams, Anthony Davis, Mike Iupati, Jason Pierre-Paul, Jimmy Clausen

Dare I venture into the mind of Al Davis? I wouldn't be surprised if the Raiders drafted Iron Man 2.

9. Buffalo Bills - C.J. Spiller - RB - Clemson
Other possibilities: Bryan Bulaga, Trent Williams, Dan Williams

The Bills want an OT, so they will take one of the top three if one falls. Anthony Davis has too many question marks for this high of a selection. Spiller's value is too good to pass up, and for the first time in years, the Bills select the best player on the board.

10. Jacksonville Jaguars - Earl Thomas - S - Texas
Other possibilities: Rolando McClain, Joe Haden, Derrick Morgan, Trade down

The Jags play the Colts twice a year, so they need to be able to defend the pass. This pick will upset many teams that covet Earl Thomas including, Miami, Seattle, Houston, and Philadelphia.

11. Denver Broncos - Rolando McClain - ILB - Alabama
Other possibilities: Maurkice Pouncey, Dan Williams, Mike Iupati, Derrick Morgan, Brandon Graham, Jason Pierre-Paul, Trade down

With the release of Andra Davis, this is a glaring hole. Pouncey and Iupati are both reaches at this point, but would fill a big need.

12. Miami Dolphins - Derrick Morgan - DE/OLB - Georgia Tech
Other possibilities: Earl Thomas, Jerry Hughes, Dan Williams, Sergio Kindle, Trade down

The Dolphins are primed for a trade down, with one possibile partner being Philadelphia if Earl Thomas is on the board. The Dolphins would like to get a second round pick, after they traded theirs away for Brandon Marshall.

13. San Francisco 49ers - Anthony Davis - OT - Rutgers
Other possibilities: Joe Haden, Bryan Bulaga, Earl Thomas, Jimmy Clausen, Mike Iupati, Derrick Morgan, Sergio Kindle, C.J. Spiller

This all depends on what the 49ers think about Anthony Davis. The guy needs to be coached. I think Singletary is up to the task.

14. Seattle Seahawks - Jason Pierre-Paul - DE - South Florida
Other possibilities: Anthony Davis, Derrick Morgan, C.J. Spiller, Earl Thomas, Brandon Graham

Sleeper pick is Pete Carroll's player, Charles Brown.

15. New York Giants - Mike Iupati - G - Idaho
Other possibilities: Rolando McClain, C.J. Spiller, Joe Haden, Derrick Morgan, Jason Pierre-Paul, Jared Odrick, Dan Williams

The Giants would love if Rolando McClain fell to them. It won't happen.

16. Tennessee Titans - Joe Haden - CB - Florida
Other possibilities: Jason Pierre-Paul, Derrick Morgan, Brandon Graham, Kyle Wilson, Rolando McClain, Earl Thomas

Can't believe Haden got past the 49ers.

17. San Francisco 49ers - Jimmy Clausen - QB - Notre Dame
Other possibilities: Joe Haden, Anthony Davis, Earl Thomas, Mike Iupati, Kyle Wilson, C.J. Spiller, Charles Brown

This team can only get so good without a better quarterback.

18. Pittsburgh Steelers - Maurkice Pouncey - C/G - Florida
Other possibilities: Mike Iupati, Joe Haden, Kyle Wilson, Anthony Davis, Dan Williams, Jared Odrick, Devin McCourty, Kareem Jackson, Charles Brown

Pouncey will step in at guard, and eventually take over at center.

19. Atlanta Falcons - Brandon Graham - DE - Michigan
Other possibilities: Sean Weatherspoon, Maurkice Pouncey, Mike Iupati, Jason Pierre-Paul, Kyle Wilson, Devin McCourty, Kareem Jackson, Jerry Hughes

The Falcons love Brandon Graham.

20. Houston Texans - Kyle Wilson - CB - Boise State
Other possibilities: Joe Haden, Earl Thomas, Ryan Matthews, Dan Williams, Jared Odrick, Maurkice Pouncey, Mike Iupati, Devin McCourty, Kareem Jackson

The Texans lost Dunta Robinson, and need a replacement. They love hometown Earl Thomas, but he won't be there. Ryan Matthews is another consideration.

21. Cincinnati Bengals - Dez Bryant - WR - Oklahoma St.
Other possibilities: Jermaine Gresham, Demaryius Thomas, Taylor Mays, Dan Williams, Sergio Kindle, Everson Griffen

The Bengals don't expect Bryant to be there at #21. If Bryant is off the board, look for another receiving threat - either Jermaine Gresham or Demaryius Thomas.

22. New England Patriots - Sergio Kindle - OLB - Texas
Other possibilities: Jerry Hughes, Jared Odrick, Dan Williams, Jermaine Gresham, Everson Griffen, Trade down

The Pats could use a rush OLB. Adalius Thomas has been a bust. Another option - Odrick would fit perfectly at the five technique spot. As usual, the Pats could trade down and pick up extra picks.

23. Green Bay Packers - Jerry Hughes - DE/OLB - TCU
Other possibilities: Anthony Davis, Charles Brown, Rodger Saffold, Mike Iupati, Devin McCourty, Kyle Wilson, Kareem Jackson, Sergio Kindle, Trade up

Two homeruns at OLB in a row? The Packers' offensive line improved as the year went on, and they might not consider it their biggest need.

24. Philadelphia Eagles - Kareem Jackson - CB - Alabama
Other possibilities: Trade up for Earl Thomas, Brandon Graham, Maurkice Pouncey, Mike Iupati, Taylor Mays, Kyle Wilson, Devin McCourty, Jason Pierre-Paul, Dan Williams, Jared Odrick

Philadelphia wants to trade up for Earl Thomas, and they have the ammo to do it - but Jacksonville won't let him get by them. Kareem Jackson is the #1 cornerback on some boards.

25. Baltimore Ravens - Jared Odrick - DE/DT - Penn State
Other possibilities: Jermaine Gresham, Dez Bryant, Demaryius Thomas, Kyle Wilson, Devin McCourty, Kareem Jackson, Dan Williams

Odrick fits perfectly at the five-technique.

26. Arizona Cardinals - Jermaine Gresham - TE - Oklahoma State
Other possibilities: Jerry Hughes, Sergio Kindle, Mike Iupati, Maurkice Pouncey, Dan Williams
Anything that can help Matt Leinart succeed.

27. Dallas Cowboys - Charles Brown - OT - USC
Other possibilities: Rodger Saffold, Bruce Campbell, Demaryius Thomas, Dan Williams, Mike Iupati, Jared Odrick, Trade down

With the departure of Flozell Adams, the Cowboys need an offensive tackle. The surprise play here might be a trade down with a team like the Buffalo Bills or the Jacksonville Jaguars, so they can grab the great Tim Tebow.

28. San Diego Chargers - Ryan Matthews - RB - Fresno State
Other possibilities: Dan Williams, Jared Odrick, Jonathan Dwyer, Kyle Wilson, Devin McCourty, Kareem Jackson

The Chargers would love if Dan Williams fell to them since they need a NT. There is a big need at RB though, so Matthews should be the pick.

29. New York Jets - Devin McCourty - CB - Rutgers
Other possibilities: Jerry Hughes, Kareem Jackson, Sergio Kindle, Jared Odrick, Everson Griffen, Ricky Sapp, Taylor Mays, Trade down

The Jets don't have many glaring holes. They would love for Jerry Hughes or Dan Williams to fall here.

30. Minnesota Vikings - Jahvid Best - RB - California
Other possibilities: Jimmy Clausen, Devin McCourty, Kareem Jackson, Chris Cook, Taylor Mays

This could be dangerous. Will there be a more exciting team to watch next year?

31. Indianapolis Colts - Rodger Saffold - OT - Indiana
Other possibilities: Charles Brown, Jerry Hughes, Tyson Alualu, Koa Misi, Brian Price, Lamarr Houston, Jason Worilds

Protect Peyton.

32. New Orleans Saints - Sean Weatherspoon - OLB - Missouri
Other possibilities: Daryl Washington, Jerry Hughes, Brian Price, Tyson Alualu, Navorro Bowman

This team wants Sean Weatherspoon. They may make a move to get him. The next best OLB is Daryl Washington.

4/16 Mock

McCoy may fit Detroit's scheme better, but ultimately the Lions will select the better player. Okung would protect the huge investment in Stafford, but the OT void can be filled in later rounds.

4. Washington Redskins - Russell Okung - OT - Oklahoma State
Other possibilities: Trent Williams

It's clear the Redskins need to protect McNabb to be successful. They have RBs, young WRs trying to break out (Malcolm Kelly and Devin Thomas) and a great TE in Chris Cooley. Don't be shocked if the pick is Trent Williams, who is a better fit in Mike Shanahan's zone blocking scheme.

5. Kansas City Chiefs - Trent Williams - OT - Oklahoma
Other possibilities: Russell Okung, Bryan Bulaga, Eric Berry, Rolando McClain, Dan Williams, Anthony Davis, Derrick Morgan, Dez Bryant

The Chiefs surprised everyone last year with their selection of Tyson Jackson at #3, so it's hard to predict which way they will go this year. Last year, they passed on Aaron Curry who was considered the safest pick in the draft (though his rookie year wasn't so hot). Pioli doesn't want to spend big bucks on a safety, so Eric Berry could be out of the picture, even though it fills a need. If the Chiefs like Bryan Bulaga better, he could be the pick - but he's falling down draft boards. Trent Williams is the better talent. Don't rule out Anthony Davis out of Rutgers. The Tyson-Jacksonesque picks could be Rolando McClain, Dez Bryant, Derrick Morgan, or Dan Williams - all would fill needs.

6. Seattle Seahawks - Eric Berry - S - Tennessee
Other possibilities: Russell Okung, Trent Williams, Bryan Bulaga, Derrick Morgan, C.J. Spiller

The Seahawks need help everywhere. They like Trent Williams, so if he's available he will probably be the pick. Safety and Defensive End are their next biggest holes. They will consider drafting Derrick Morgan, but the Seahawks know if they pass up on Berry, that both he AND Earl Thomas will be gone by the time they pick again at #14, whereas the dropoff at DE is not as steep.

7. Cleveland Browns - Joe Haden - CB - Florida
Other possibilities: Eric Berry, Earl Thomas, Jimmy Clausen, Derrick Morgan, C.J. Spiller

The Browns are hoping Eric Berry falls to them, but he's got to get past the Chiefs and the Seahawks first. They could opt for Earl Thomas, but a shutdown cornerback will make more of an impact.

8. Oakland Raiders - Bruce Campbell - OT - Maryland
Other possibilities: Trent Williams, Anthony Davis, Jason Pierre-Paul, Eric Berry, and the Roadrunner from Looney Toons.

Campbell passes Al Davis's test for size and speed.

9. Buffalo Bills - Brian Bulaga - OT - Iowa
Other possibilities: Trent Williams, Anthony Davis, Dan Williams, C.J. Spiller, Jimmy Clausen, Derrick Morgan

The Bills are badly in need of O-line help. They like Demetrius Bell at LT, so they might put Bulaga at RT. If both Bulaga and Trent Williams are gone, the Bills will look at Anthony Davis. There is a chance that Oakland could take Davis, forcing the Bills to draft another position, or make a huge reach for the next best OT. If the Bills decide to go a different way, C.J. Spiller could be an option - but with Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch already on the roster, that would be a crowded backfield, forcing the Bills to get rid of Lynch. On defense, the Bills are switching from a 40 to a 30 front, and they do not have a true nose tackle. Dan Williams could be the pick if they go defense.

10. Jacksonville Jaguars - Earl Thomas - S - Texas
Other possibilities: Joe Haden, Derrick Morgan, Rolando McClain, Brandon Graham, Jason Pierre-Paul, Jimmy Clausen

The Jags play the Colts twice a year, so they need to be able to defend the pass.

11. Denver Broncos - Rolando McClain - ILB - Alabama
Other possibilities: Maurkice Pouncey, Dan Williams, Mike Iupati, Dez Bryant, Derrick Morgan, Brandon Graham, Jason Pierre-Paul

With the release of Andra Davis, this is a glaring hole. The Broncos are not sold on Dez Bryant, but he remains a possibility.

12. Miami Dolphins - Derrick Morgan - DE/OLB - Georgia Tech
Other possibilities: Earl Thomas, Brandon Graham, Sergio Kindle, Dan Williams

The Dolphins are trying to win now so they will not go after a developmental player. Derrick Morgan can transition to OLB in the 3-4, and Parcells loves drafting that position (Lawrence Taylor, Carl Banks, DeMarcus Ware). They will nab Earl Thomas if he's available.

13. San Francisco 49ers - Anthony Davis - OT - Rutgers
Other possibilities: Bryan Bulaga, Joe Haden, Earl Thomas, Jimmy Clausen, Mike Iupati, Derrick Morgan, Brandon Graham, Sergio Kindle, C.J. Spiller

Joe Staley can man the left side, but the right side is an issue. The 49ers hope Bryan Bulaga will fall to them, but Anthony Davis is still a top talent, and he is the best run blocker in the draft. The team is also looking for secondary help, interior O-line, and a rush OLB.

14. Seattle Seahawks - Brandon Graham - DE - Michigan
Other possibilities: Bryan Bulaga, Anthony Davis, Earl Thomas, Derrick Morgan, C.J. Spiller, Jason Pierre-Paul, Dez Bryant

Seattle hopes an OT falls to them here after the Berry selection at #6, but they don't get lucky. They might try to trade down, otherwise they'll fill a big need at DE with the best pass rusher in the draft.

15. New York Giants - C.J. Spiller - RB - Clemson
Other possibilities: Rolando McClain, Joe Haden, Derrick Morgan, Mike Iupati, Maurkice Pouncey, Sean Weatherspoon, Jason Pierre-Paul, Jared Odrick, Dan Williams

The Giants' dream is for Rolando McClain to fall here. They like him so much that they will trade up for him if they have to. Otherwise, it's the best player on the board. Will Spiller be the next Chris Johnson, or will he be another Felix Jones?

16. Tennessee Titans - Jason Pierre-Paul - DE - South Florida
Other possibilities: Joe Haden, Derrick Morgan, Brandon Graham, Kyle Wilson, Sean Weatherspoon, Rolando McClain, Earl Thomas, Dez Bryant, Demaryius Thomas

The Titans need a pass rusher, and they typically look for elite athleticism - here it is. Derrick Morgan would be hard to pass up if he is available.

17. San Francisco 49ers - Sergio Kindle - DE/OLB - Texas
Other possibilities: Anthony Davis, Earl Thomas, Jimmy Clausen, Mike Iupati, Brandon Graham, Kyle Wilson, C.J. Spiller, Charles Brown

The 49ers would love Derrick Morgan or Brandon Graham, but it's not in the cards. Mike Singletary sees Kindle as another Orakpo (Kindle's teammate in college).

18. Pittsburgh Steelers - Kyle Wilson - CB - Boise St.
Other possibilities: Mike Iupati, Maurkice Pouncey, Anthony Davis, Dan Williams, Jared Odrick, Sean Weatherspoon, Devin McCourty, Kareem Jackson, Brandon Graham, Sergio Kindle, Derrick Morgan, Charles Brown

The only first round talent to visit the Steelers so far has been Kyle Wilson and Kareem Jackson. The team likes Mike Iupati and will consider him if he is available.

19. Atlanta Falcons - Sean Weatherspoon - OLB - Missouri
Other possibilities: Brandon Graham, Maurkice Pouncey, Mike Iupati, Jason Pierre-Paul, Kyle Wilson, Devin McCourty, Kareem Jackson, Dez Bryant, Jermaine Gresham, Demaryius Thomas

The Falcons love Brandon Graham, but he'll be off the board, and they need an OLB and a leader on defense. If Weatherspoon is gone, watch for Maurkice Pouncey.

20. Houston Texans - Ryan Matthews - RB - Fresno St.
Other possibilities: Joe Haden, Earl Thomas, C.J. Spiller, Jared Odrick, Maurkice Pouncey, Mike Iupati, Dan Williams, Kyle Wilson, Devin McCourty, Kareem Jackson

The Texans do not want to use the running-back-by-committee approach again next year. Matthews is the every down type back that will complement playmaker Steve Slaton nicely. Having to play the Colts twice a year means having to establish a running game and being able to defend the pass. If it's not a RB, the Texans will look at a CB.

21. Cincinnati Bengals - Dez Bryant - WR - Oklahoma St.
Other possibilities: Jermaine Gresham, Demaryius Thomas, Taylor Mays, Dan Williams, Jared Odrick, Sergio Kindle, Everson Griffen

The Bengals don't expect Bryant to be there at #21. If Bryant is off the board, look for another receiving threat - either Jermaine Gresham or Demaryius Thomas.

22. New England Patriots - Jared Odrick - DE - Penn St.
Other possibilities: Brandon Graham, Sergio Kindle, Jerry Hughes, Dan Williams, Jermaine Gresham, Kyle Wilson, Devin McCourty, Kareem Jackson, Everson Griffen

The Pats could use a rush OLB, but it would be a reach for Jerry Hughes, and the other big names are gone. Odrick is a great player who should fit perfectly at the five technique spot. As usual, the Pats could trade down and pick up extra picks.

23. Green Bay Packers - Charles Brown - OT - USC
Other possibilities: Anthony Davis, Bruce Campbell, Rodger Saffold, Mike Iupati, Jahvid Best, Devin McCourty, Kyle Wilson, Kareem Jackson, Brandon Graham, Sergio Kindle, Jerry Hughes, Taylor Mays

The key to the Packers' success is Aaron Rodgers, so they have to protect him. In this case, they'll reach for a need at OT.

24. Philadelphia Eagles - Maurkice Pouncey - C/G - Florida
Other possibilities: Brandon Graham, Everson Griffen, Taylor Mays, Sean Weatherspoon, Kyle Wilson, Devin McCourty, Kareem Jackson, Jason Pierre-Paul

Andy Reid loves drafting linemen. Here the choice is between Mike Iupati and Pouncey. Pouncey gets the nod because he is more NFL ready, and is a better pass protector for Andy Reid's pass-happy scheme.

25. Baltimore Ravens - Jermaine Gresham - TE - Oklahoma
Other possibilities: Dez Bryant, Demaryius Thomas, Kyle Wilson, Devin McCourty, Kareem Jackson, Jared Odrick, Dan Williams

The Ravens need a CB bad, but they can't pass up on this value.

26. Arizona Cardinals - Jerry Hughes - OLB - TCU
Other possibilities: Mike Iupati, Maurkice Pouncey, Jimmy Clausen, Jermaine Gresham, Kyle Wilson, Devin McCourty, Kareem Jackson, Patrick Robinson, Dan Williams

Remember that playoff game against the Packers? That's what happens when you don't have a pass rush. The Cardinals will address this void and shift Hughes, a DE in college, to OLB.

27. Dallas Cowboys - Taylor Mays - S - USC
Other possibilities: Bruce Campbell, Charles Brown, Dez Bryant, Demaryius Thomas, Dan Williams, Mike Iupati, Jared Odrick, Maurkice Pouncey, Everson Griffen

The Cowboys would love to get their hands on hometown Earl Thomas, so watch for the trade up. If they stay, the next best safety is Taylor Mays.

28. San Diego Chargers - Dan Williams - DT - Tennessee
Other possibilities: Ryan Matthews, Jahvid Best, Jared Odrick, Everson Griffen, Devin McCourty, Kareem Jackson, Patrick Robinson

The Chargers would love if Dan Williams fell to them since they need a NT. There is a big need at RB though, so watch for Ryan Matthews or Jahvid Best.

29. New York Jets - Devin McCourty - CB - Rutgers
Other possibilities: Kareem Jackson, Patrick Robinson, Mike Iupati, Jerry Hughes, Jared Odrick, Everson Griffen, Brandon Graham

The Jets will have their pick of CBs here. The call is tough with Jackson and Robinson still on the board, but McCourty is the pick.

30. Minnesota Vikings - Kareem Jackson - CB - Alabama
Other possibilities: Devin McCourty, Patrick Robinson, Mike Iupati, Dan Williams, Taylor Mays, Jimmy Clausen, Brian Price, Charles Brown, Rodger Saffold

The Vikings have an excellent team - they're just weak at CB. Any other position would be a backup this year. Jackson could start immediately. Watch for a Jimmy Clausen move if he falls this far. He could sit behind Favre and learn, just like Aaron Rodgers.

31. Indianapolis Colts - Brian Price - DT - UCLA
Other possibilities: Jerry Hughes, Charles Brown, Mike Iupati, Rodger Saffold, Tyson Alualu, Ricky Sapp, Koa Misi, Jared Odrick, Lamarr Houston, Jason Worilds, Kareem Jackson, Devin McCourty

Elite pass-rushing DT for the Colts.

32. New Orleans Saints - Daryl Washington - OLB - TCU
Other possibilities: Sean Weatherspoon, Jerry Hughes, Everson Griffen, Ricky Sapp, Navarro Bowman, Brian Price, Jared Odrick, Ryan Matthews, Jahvid Best

This team wants Sean Weatherspoon badly. They may make a move to get him. The next best OLB is Daryl Washington.

Updated Mock Draft - 4/9

1. Detroit Lions - Matthew Stafford - QB - Georgia

The selection here was a debate before the Cutler trade. Now, there are too many teams in the QB sweepstakes for Detroit to go with another pick here and hope to get a QB at their other spot in the first round (20) or with a trade up.

2. St. Louis Rams - Jason Smith - OT - Baylor

The release of Orlando Pace determined this pick. It could be Eugene Monroe, who is the more natural blocker, but Smith is more athletic and interviewed very well at the combine.

3. Kansas City - Aaron Curry - OLB - Wake Forest

Many teams rate Curry as the best player in the draft. The Chiefs won't pass him up.

4. Seattle Seahawks - Malcolm Jenkins - CB/S - Ohio St.

Seattle is in a prime spot to trade down. One way or another, they will end up with Malcolm Jenkins filling their biggest need on defense.

5. Cleveland Browns - Michael Crabtree - WR - Texas Tech

The Browns lost a major playmaker with the departure of Kellen Winslow. Crabtree is too good to pass up at this point.

6. Cincinnati Bengals - Eugene Monroe - OT - Virgina Tech

With the loss of Stacy Andrews, this team is badly in need of an OT. The Bengals know their success depends on Carson Palmer, so they need to protect him.

7. Oakland Raiders - Jeremy Maclin - WR - Missouri

The Raiders take the best WR on the board.

8. Jacksonville Jaguars - B.J. Raji - DT - Boston College

Jacksonville missed Marcus Stroud last year. Raji will help make the entire defense better.

9. Green Bay Packers - Brian Orakpo - DE/OLB - Texas

The Packers are shifting to a 3-4 and Orakpo fits in as a rush linebacker. Tyson Jackson will be considered.

10. San Francisco 49ers - Andre Smith - OT - Alabama

Mike Singletary wants to establish a power run game to control the clock. To do that, the 49ers need a bookend opposite Joe Staley. Twill give a lot of thought to Mark Sanchez if he's still on the board.

11. Buffalo Bills - Robert Ayers - DE - Tennessee

Lucky for the Bills, all of the top pass rushers are still on the board. The Bills are looking for a left DE in their 4-3, since Schobel mans the right spot, and for that position the Bills are looking for a DE with more size. Ayers fits the bill.

12. Denver Broncos - Mark Sanchez - QB - USC

The Broncos will most likely have to move up to get Sanchez, but he will end up with the Broncos. After trading Cutler, the Broncos are armed with plenty of picks to move up in the draft and get Sanchez. Kyle Orton is not a long-term solution.

13. Washington Redskins - Everette Brown - DE - Florida St.

Playing alongside Albert Haynesworth, this has the makings of a very good defensive line.

14. New Orleans Saints - Brian Cushing - OLB - USC

Though the Saints have two returning starters at the position, neither Scott Fujita nor Scott Shanle are playmakers.

15. Houston Texans - Vontae Davis - CB - Illinois

The Texans give up way too many big plays in the passing game. They would love if Malcolm Jenkins fell here.

16. San Diego Chargers - Tyson Jackson - DE - LSU

17. New York Jets - Josh Freeman - QB - Kansas St.

18. Denver - Chris Wells - RB - Ohio St.

19. Tampa Bay - Clay Matthews - OLB - USC

20. Detroit Lions - Brandon Pettigrew - TE - Oklahoma St.

21. Philadelphia Eagles - Michael Oher - OT - Mississippi

22. Minnesota Vikings - Hakeem Nicks - WR - North Carolina

23. New England Patriots - Donald Brown - RB - Connecticut

24. Atlanta Falcons - Peria Jerry - DT - Mississippi

25. Miami Dolphins - Darius Butler - CB - Connecticut

26. Baltimore Ravens - Rey Maualuga - ILB - USC

27. Indianapolis Colts - Brian Robiskie - WR - Ohio St.

28. Philadelphia - Sean Smith - CB/S - Utah

29. New York Giants - Kenny Britt - WR - Rutgers

30. Tennessee Titans - Michael Johnson - DE - Georgia Tech

31. Arizona Cardinals - Knowshon Moreno - RB - Georgia

32. Pittsburgh Steelers - Eben Britton - OT - Arizona

Updated Mock Draft - 4/5

3. Kansas City - Eugene Monroe - OT - Virgina Tech

Pioli loved to trade down in New England, and that's what he will try to do here as well. Other teams will be calling to move up and nab Sanchez, Monroe, Crabtree, or Raji. Pioli will jump at one of the teams' offers. If not, the choice is Monroe. He will pair with former teammate, Brandon Albert, and protect the big investment made in Matt Cassel.

4. Seattle Seahawks - Michael Crabtree - WR - Texas Tech

Even with the addition of T.J. Houshmandzadeh, the Seahawks could still use a WR. Branch, Engram (if he comes back), and Housh, are all over 30, and Housh doesn't have Chad Johnson on the other side of the field anymore. Seattle may also look to trade down.

5. Cleveland Browns - Aaron Curry - OLB - Wake Forest

The Browns need an OLB for Mangini's 3-4 defense. Curry, who many consider the best player in this draft, is a perfect addition. Orakpo might be the pick if Curry is off the board.

6. Cincinnati Bengals - Andre Smith - OT - Alabama

With the loss of Stacy Andrews, this team is badly in need of an OT. Based solely on film, Andre Smith is the best OT in this draft. The Bengals know their success depends on Carson Palmer, so they need to protect him.

7. Oakland Raiders - B.J. Raji - DT - Boston College

The Raiders had the second worst rush defense in the league last year, giving up 160 yards a game on the ground. Raji is the pick that makes sense, but Al Davis works in mysterious ways, so this pick is, as always, a wild card. Orakpo, Maclin, and Heyward-Bey are all options in the upside-down world that is Al Davis's mind.

8. Jacksonville Jaguars - Jeremy Maclin - WR - Missouri

The Jags haven't had a serious receiving threat since Jimmy Smith. They would love Crabtree to fall here, and he might, but if not, the pick is Maclin.

9. Green Bay Packers - Tyson Jackson - DE - LSU

The Packers are shifting to a 3-4 and Jackson is the best of the few 3-4 DEs in the draft. Orakpo will be considered at the OLB position, as will Malcolm Jenkins to play one of many positions in the secondary.

10. San Francisco 49ers - Michael Oher - OT - Mississippi

Mike Singletary wants to establish a power run game to control the clock. To do that, the 49ers need a bookend opposite Joe Staley. They would love if Andre Smith fell here, and they will give a lot of thought to Mark Sanchez if he's still on the board.

13. Washington Redskins - Brian Orakpo - DE/OLB - Texas

This will be a tough choice with Everette Brown still on the board. Orakpo offers slightly less of a pass rush, but is a much stouter run defender. Paired with Albert Haynesworth, this has the makings of a very good defensive line.

14. New Orleans Saints - Brian Cushing - OLB - USC

Though the Saints have two returning starters at the position, neither Scott Fujita nor Scott Shanle are playmakers.

15. Houston Texans - Malcolm Jenkins - CB/S - Ohio St.

The Texans give up way too many big plays in the passing game. They need help at both the CB and S positions, and Jenkins can play either.

16. San Diego Chargers - Rey Maualuga - ILB - USC

17. New York Jets - Percy Harvin - WR - Florida

18. Denver - Everette Brown - DE - Florida St.

19. Tampa Bay - Josh Freeman - QB - Kansas St.

20. Detroit Lions - Clay Matthews - OLB - USC

21. Philadelphia Eagles - Eben Britton - OT - Arizona

22. Minnesota Vikings - William Beatty - OT - Connecticut

23. New England Patriots - Connor Barwin - DE/OLB - Cincinnati

24. Atlanta Falcons - Brandon Pettigrew - Oklahoma St.

25. Miami Dolphins - Aaron Maybin - DE/OLB - Penn St.

26. Baltimore Ravens - Peria Jerry - DT - Mississippi

27. Indianapolis Colts - Hakeem Nicks - WR - North Carolina

28. Philadelphia - Knowshon Moreno - RB - Georgia

29. New York Giants - Larry English - DE/OLB - Northern Illinois

30. Tennessee Titans - Darius Heyward-Bey - WR - Maryland

31. Arizona Cardinals - Chris Wells - RB - Ohio St.

32. Pittsburgh Steelers - Evander Hood - DT - Missouri

Updated Mock Draft

1. Detroit Lions - Eugene Monroe - OT - Virginia Tech
Lions' new GM and Head Coach follow the path of Bill Parcells and Tony Sparano in Miami, rather than their counterparts in Atlanta. They select an anchor for their offensive line for the next decade, a la Jake Long, rather than rolling the dice with a less experienced and less mature, albeit stronger-armed, version of Matt Ryan.
2. St. Louis Rams - Jason Smith - OT - Baylor
One of the worst offensive lines in the league finds its heir apparent to the legendary but aging Orlando Pace.
3. Kansas City Chiefs - Michael Crabtree - WR - Texas Tech
A tug-of-war between Scott Pioli's preference to go defense and draft Aaron Curry and Todd Haley's offensive mindedness to select Michael Crabtree. In the end, Haley convinces Pioli that Crabtree just reminds him too much of a guy he coached last year in Arizona, Larry Fitzgerald.
4. Seattle Seahawks - B. J. Raji - DT - Boston College
A big defensive tackle who can take some pressure of Patrick Kerney and the Seahawks' first-round pick last year, defensive end Lawrence Jackson.
5. Cleveland Browns - Aaron Curry - OLB - Wake Forest
Cleveland cannot believe that Curry is available; a future Pro Bowler and immediate upgrade for this defense.
6. Cincinnati Bengals - Andre Smith - OT - Alabama
He may have gone to the combine a little out of shape, but he is a massive prospect with a solid college career.
7. Oakland Raiders - Jeremy Maclin - WR - Missouri
Al Davis just cannot resist playmakers, and Maclin has the rare speed and quickness to be just that.
8. Jacksonville Jaguars - Matthew Stafford - QB - Georgia
Jacksonville came into the draft with different plans, but they won't pass up on this talent at the eight-spot.
9. Green Bay Packers - Brian Orakpo - DE/OLB - Texas
Orakpo is a pass rusher who brings versatility and quickness to a defense that notched only 27 sacks last year.
10. San Francisco 49ers - Malcolm Jenkins - CB - Ohio State
The 49ers need help in the secondary and Jenkins can play either cornerback or safety.
11. Buffalo Bills - Brandon Pettigrew - TE - Oklahoma State
The Bills will welcome an upgrade to their run blocking as well as another target for Trent Edwards.
12. Denver Broncos - Tyson Jackson - DE/DT - LSU
Jackson is a massive DE who will shift inside for the 4-3 Denver defense, and take some pressure of Dumervil and Crowder.
13. Washington Redskins - Everette Brown - DE/OLB - Florida State
The Redskins need a pass rusher to complete their front seven attack after the addition of Albert Haynesworth.
14. New Orleans Saints - Brian Cushing - OLB - USC
The Saints are in desperate need for a leader on their defense. Cushing's upside is limited, but he should be a solid player who always comes prepared.
15. Houston Texans - Aaron Maybin - DE/OLB - Penn State
The Texans are attracted to young pass rushers (i.e., Mario Williams and Amobi Okoye). This should make life a little more difficult for Peyton Manning.
16. San Diego Chargers - Rey Maualuga - ILB - USC
This guy hits hard and fills a need between Phillips and Merriman.
17. New York Jets - Percy Harvin - WR - Florida
The Jets want to bring in a playmaker to add some explosiveness to their offense. Harvin reminds many of Desean Jackson.
18. Chicago Bears - Darius Heyward-Bey - WR - Maryland
The Bears are in need of a go-to receiver. Devin Hester and Rashied Davis aren't cutting it and Kyle Orton needs some help.
19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Knowshon Moreno - RB - Georgia
Tampa Bay hasn't had consistency at the running back position in years. Moreno has too much talent to pass up at this point.
20. Detroit Lions - Mark Sanchez - QB - USC
The lions pass on Stafford but pick up Sanchez later in the first round. They make have to trade up to actually make this happen.
21. Philadelphia Eagles - Michael Oher - OT - Mississippi
Andy Reid loves drafting lineman, and he loves benching them until they've had a chance to learn the ropes. This sounds like a perfect situation for the developing tackle from Ole Miss.
22. Minnesota Vikings - Vontae Davis - CB - Illinois
The Vikings need athleticism in their secondary and Davis is a physical freak.
23. New England Patriots - James Laurinaitis - ILB - Ohio State
The Pats love this smart, savvy, and instinctive linebacker. Reminiscent of Vrable and Bruschi.
24. Atlanta Falcons - Peria Jerry - DT - Mississippi
The O-line is solid, now they turn to the D-line where Jamaal Anderson could use a little help.
25. Miami Dolphins - Clay Matthews - OLB - USC
A natural pass rusher to play opposite Joey Porter.
26. Baltimore Ravens - Darius Butler - CB - Connecticut
The replacement for Chris McAllister.
27. Indianapolis Colts - Evander "Ziggy" Hood - DT - Missouri
The Colts can always use a run-stopper on their defense.
28. Philadelphia Eagles - Chris "Beanie" Wells - RB - Ohio State
The Eagles grab an alternative to the shake-and-bake style of Brian Westbrook with a large downhill runner in Wells.
29. New York Giants - Larry English - OLB - Northern Illinois
The Giants grab the best linebacker on the board. He's got a non-stop motor and can step in as defensive end if more injuries plague this team.
30. Tennessee Titans - Michael Johnson - DE - Georgia Tech
The Titans always seem to grab great athletes. Johnson is a physical freak, but is very inconsistent. Jeff Fischer believes he can get the best out of Johnson's endless potential.
31. Arizona Cardinals - Donald Brown - RB - Connecticut
Edgerrin James is aging and Tim Hightower did not show he could take the reigns. Brown could be the back of the future.
32. Pittsburgh Steelers - Eben Britton - OT - Arizona
Another blocker to protect Big Ben and push the pile for Willie Parker.
